CALL FOR ENTRIES
The El Paso Chapter of the American Institute recognizes achievements for a broad range of architectural activity.

This year we invite you to submit your entry and participate in celebrating with us great architectural accomplishments in our community.

Eligibility
We encourage participation by Registered Architects, Intern Architects, current AIA associates or college architecture students. All applicants must be members of the AIA. All levels are welcome!

Eligible projects may be of any size, budget, geographical location, or architectural style.

Entries may be of a single building or groups of buildings designed or completed within preceding five years.

Entries may be of built projects or preliminary designs that meet the criteria of displaying critical thinking in architecture. Built projects can be submitted by both registered Architects and non-Licensed associate AIA members as long as the Architect of Record is given credit.

Entries
Submit your project MS PowerPoint Slides on a compact disk. Once CD per project please. Two individual files, one for PRESENTATION other for JURY (no authorship).

Presentation
The first slide on the first file shall contain: Project Name, Architect, Owner and Contractor information. This slide will be used for presentation purposes at the awards banquet.

Jury
The second slide on the second file shall contain the Project Name ONLY without any evidence of authorship. All other remaining slides must not contain any identification of the author. NOTE: Projects revealing authorship after the first slide will be disqualified.

  • Project Name - JURY.pptx

Entry Fee
A $50.00 Entry Fee per project is required by check. The check shall accompany the project CD when submitted. Checks shall be made out to AIA El Paso Chapter.


Important Information (AIA Banquet on October 16th 2015):
Winning entries will be notified two weeks prior to the "AIA El Paso Chapter Banquet", and are encouraged to invite project collaborators such as owners, consultants contractors or other project participants to attend the Chapter banquet and share a great evening in their honor.

Mayor's Awards
Projects completed for the City of El Paso within the last five years may be submitted for recognition by the Mayor of El Paso. Entries shall follow the same submittal format but shall be clearly labeled as Mayor's Award submittal on a single separate CD. Our honorable Mayor will be the judge for this category.

Twenty Five Year Award
The design awards program will continue its tradition of recognizing architectural designs of enduring significance that have stood the test of time. Firms and individuals are encourage to submit built projects that were completed prior to 1990. These entries shall involve projects that are considered to have contributed significantly to the promotion and advancement of architecture as a profession and to the quality of life of people in El Paso.

Nominations for the Twenty Five Year Award can be made by submitting written data on the project, together with plans and/or photographs that substantiate the nomination. Nominations will be judged by the Chapters Executive Committee.
